Bridgeport, Conn.| The LIU Post women's swimming teams earned a dominant 134-64 victory over rival University of Bridgeport in the Wheeler Recreation Center natatorium on Saturday afternoon, on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Pioneers improve to 3-0 on the year as the Purple Knights slide to 0-2.
After the 200-yard medley relay team of Karis Fuller, Caitlin Johnstone, Laura Bendfeldt, and Tove Sparrman took first place (1:58.05) in the meet's first event, Bridgeport won the next two events (800 SC meter free, 200 SC meter free).
Alison Schillick finished on top in the 50-meter free with a 28.63 time and Johnstone and Sparrmann grabbed first in the 200 meter IM and 100-meter butterfly, respectively.
Bendfeldt scooped up a first-place finish in the 100-meter free and Fuller earned the top time with 1:04.60 in the 100-meter backstroke.
Johnstone earned her third victory of the night in the 100-meter breast stroke before Achillick, Jessica Argelander, Gena Mendez, and Elin Kvarnemar yielded LIU Post's final first-place finish in the 200-meter free relay.
The Pioneers return to the pool on Friday, Nov. 18 for the start of the three-day Frank Elm Invitational, hosted by Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J.
