BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Three touchdowns and nearly 300 all-purpose yards by redshirt-junior running back
Malik Pierre highlighted the LIU Post football team's 52-35 Northeast-10 Conference victory over Southern Conn. State during the Homecoming festivities at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Richardson both crossed the goal line in each of the first two quarters helping the Pioneers (4-2, 3-2 NE10) to a 28-14 lead heading into the second half.
Despite the Owls (1-5, 1-4 NE10) outscoring the green and gold 14-7 in the third quarter, the home squad bounced back for a 17-7 advantage in the final stanza.

Tim Marinan opened the fourth-quarter scoring as he took a
Yianni Gavalas pass for 84 yards on the two-play, 92-yard possession that only lasted 53 seconds. Junior kicker Joey Togyesi added a 25-yard field goal 4:38 minutes later, and after a SCSU touchdown, Richardson closed out the afternoon's scoring when he finished in the end zone on a 58-yard pass by Gavalas.
Gavalas finished the contest 19-for-31, accruing 375 yards in the air on three touchdowns and one pick. Pierre netted 169 yards on the ground with two touchdowns, while adding 22 reception yards on three catches. The running back also recorded 102 yards on kick returns, including his long of 91 yards that he took to the house in the first quarter. Richardson totaled 162 yards in the air on seven receptions, including two touchdowns. He also added 10 rushing yards on two carries, including the opening score.
The Pioneers hit the road next week when they head to Springfield, Mass. to face-off against American Int'l. The two NE10 squads are set for an opening kickoff at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21.
