CALDWELL, N.J. - Freshman midfielder Rebecca DeWitt (Melville, N.Y.) bookended the scoring for 12th-ranked LIU Post women's soccer in its 4-0 non-conference victory at Caldwell on Saturday at Caldwell Field.

The Pioneers (11-1-1) finally broke through on the scoreboard when DeWitt deflected a corner kick into the cage in the 40th minute of action.

Just over two minutes into the second half, sophomore forward Gabrielle Clark (Edmonds, Wa.) doubled the lead off a shot from the top of the box.

After sophomore forward Julia Duffy (Oceanside, N.Y.) sent home a strike from the top right of the box in the 68th minute to extend the green and gold lead to 3-0, DeWitt closed out the scoring exactly four minutes later with her second marker of the afternoon.

LIU Post outshot the Cougars (6-8) 16-3, including 12-2 on goal. The Pioneers also held an edge in corner kicks at 8-1.

Junior Hillevi Eklow registered two saves during her 90 minutes between the pipes.

The Pioneers return to the pitch on Wednesday (Oct. 18) when they host Mercy for a league matchup at 3 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park.
