NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 14, 2017) - On Saturday, the LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams ran at the 35th-annual Yale Collegiate Invitational at Coxe Cage in New Haven.
For the men, red-shirt junior
Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) won his heat and finished third in the 200-meter dash, clocking a 23.23.
Freshman
Jeffrey Reyes (Bay Shore, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash and 1,000-meter run with respective times of 53.07 and 2:33.13.
Red-shirt sophomore
Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) sprinted to a sixth-place finish (7.19) in the 60-meter dash. He was also 10th (23.44) in the 200-dash, after crossing at 23.44.
Red-shirt junior
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) clocked a seventh-place time of 23.37 in the 200-dash. Additionally, he leapt to a mark of 6.16 meters (20 feet, 2.5 inches) in the long jump, which was good for a ninth-place showing.
In the triple jump, freshman
Twary McKenzie (Huntington, N.Y.) posted a fifth-place distance of 12.75 meters (41 feet, 10 inches).
The women's side was led by junior
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.), who won the 3,000-meter run in a school-record 10:02.45. Graduate
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) was third (10:29.03) in the same event, while graduate
Ashlin Conroy (Syosset, N.Y.) added a sixth-place time of 10:37.16.
Freshman
Alexandria Okon (Laurel, Md.) came in third (1:01.53) in the 400-meter dash and fourth (1:20.48) in the 500-meter run. Fellow freshman
Nicolette Agostinacchio (Wantagh, N.Y.) followed in fifth (1:02.14) and sixth (1:22.10) in the 400-dash and 500-run, respectively.
In the 4 x 400-meter relay, the team of Okon, Agostinacchio, sophomore
Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) and freshman
Kaitlyn Jones (Ridgewood, N.Y.) won their heat in 4:16.56.
Lastly, freshman
Nicole Costanzo (Nesconset, N.Y.) and senior
Sara Stebbings (Lillehammer, Norway) individually finished fourth and fifth in the triple jump with leaps of 9.58 meters (31 feet, 5.25 inches) and 9.44 meters (30 feet, 11.75 inches). Costanzo eclipsed a height of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches) in the high jump, as well.

Kevin Buckley and the Pioneers return to action next Saturday (Jan. 21), when they compete at the Collegeville Classic, hosted by Ursinus College at 10 a.m. in Collegeville, Pa.
