Football Grabs Votes in Latest AFCA Division II Poll

WACO, Texas (Sept. 26, 2016) - Following a 4-0 start to the year, the LIU Post football team has earned votes in the American Football Coaches Association Division II Top-25 Poll, released Monday.

The Pioneers are 4-0 for the first time since 2002. That season, the green and gold went 11-1 and captured the Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

LIU Post currently leads the NE-10 in nearly every passing category. The Pioneers also top the conference in first downs (110) and rank second in passing touchdowns (11) and third-down conversion percentage (52.0).

Senior quarterback Jeff Kidd (Salem, Ore.) has completed a league-best 68.7 percent (101-of-147) of his passes for 1,128 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also sits in the Top-25 in Division II in nine statistical categories.

Head Coach Bryan Collins and his LIU Post squad are back in action Saturday (Oct. 1), when they travel to Worcester, Mass. for an NE-10 clash at No. 15 Assumption College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
