ERIE, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2016) - This week, the LIU Post women's golf team hit the links for the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon University at Lake Shore Country Club in Erie.
Overall, the Pioneers turned in a first-round score of 334.
Senior
Hannah Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.) carded an 82 in the opening round to lead the green and gold. Sophomore
Abby Snidemiller (Apex, N.C.), senior
Shelby Townsend (Panora, Iowa) and sophomore
Natalia Schaefer (St. James, N.Y.) all shot an 84. Freshman
Shannon Fox (Holbrook, N.Y.) posted an 88 in her second collegiate round.
In the second round of play, Pohalski, who shot a personal-best 73 on Day Two, moved up to a tie for sixth place. Snidemiller carded a personal-best 77 to improve to 19th place, a jump of 10 spots. Schaefer shot an 87 and Townsend had an 89 in their second rounds. Fox scored an 86 in her second round.
As a team, the Pioneers posted a second-round score of 323, bettering their previous low total by eight shots. They finished sixth out of 17 total teams.

Craig Maerki and the Pioneers return to action next weekend (Sept. 24-25), when they play in the Mount Holyoke College Invitational in South Hadley, Mass.
