BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 24, 2016) - Ten different Pioneers found the back of the cage Thursday, as the No. 16/14 LIU Post men's lacrosse team trounced Dominican College, 21-3, in an East Coast Conference clash at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Senior attackmen Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) collected a game-high-tying six points apiece. Beccaris notched a season-best five goals and added an assist, while Slane recorded three goals and three assists. Graduate midfielder Jeremy Morgan (Ridge, N.Y.) amassed three goals and two assists for a five-point day.

LIU Post (5-3, 3-1 ECC), which outshot Dominican (3-6, 1-2 ECC) by a commanding 55-15 count in the contest, broke out for seven goals in the first quarter. Beccaris accounted for three of the tallies, and Morgan scored a pair.

Then, in the second quarter. senior midfielder Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.), who finished with four points (3 G, 1 A), pitched in two goals to help the Pioneers to a 10-1 halftime lead.

The green and gold kept up the offensive intensity in the final 30 minutes, outscoring the Chargers, 11-2. Three different players netted their first collegiate goals for LIU Post in the run. They were red-shirt sophomore attackman Paul Bamonte (Smithtown, N.Y.) and freshmen midfielders Michael Licata (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Steven Frank (Hauppauge, N.Y.).

Junior midfielder Anthony Galeotafiore (Wantagh, N.Y.) was dominant on faceoffs in the effort, winning 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) attempts. He also scooped up 13 ground balls. Licata added a 6-for-9 showing (66.7 percent) on draws.

Between the pipes, junior goalie Matthew Liantonio (Miller Place, N.Y.) and senior cageminder Adam Winne (Ridgefield, Conn.) each played 30 minutes, combining for eight saves.

Overall, the Pioneers held a 44-21 advantage in ground balls and were a perfect 3-of-3 on extra-man opportunities. LIU Post was 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) on clears, as well.

Head Coach John Jez and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Mar. 30), when they host Post University in a non-conference showdown at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium at 3 p.m.
