Women’s Swimming Ascends to No. 21 in CSCAA Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 4, 2016) - The LIU Post women's swimming team moved up to No. 21 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Top-25 Poll, released Thursday.

This comes after consecutive victories against Kutztown University and Millersville University. Along the way, freshman Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand) won a team-high three individual events.

During the tri-meet, senior Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y) set pool-record times of 2:06.21 and 2:08.01 in the 200-yard butterfly and backstroke, respectively. Senior Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom) swam to second-place finishes in the 100- (59.71) and 200-back (2:14.40). Freshman Karis Fuller (London, England) got in on the action as well, as she clocked a first-place time of 1:59.37 in the 200-free, while taking second (2.16.09) in the 200 IM.

Queens University of Charlotte continued to top the poll with 200 points. It was followed by University of California-San Diego and Drury University.

Head Coach Michael Travers and the Pioneers return to the pool at the New York University Invitational at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 6).
