Chester, Lacey Selected to D2CCA All-Super Region I Team

KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Dec. 2, 2016) - On Friday, LIU Post football red-shirt junior defensive back Jared Chester (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and junior offensive lineman Joseph Lacey (Medford, N.Y.) were named to the 2016 Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association All-Super Region I Team.

Chester landed a spot on the D2CCA All-Super Region I First Team, while Lacey was honored as a second-team selection.

Chester garnered Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year recognition in 2016 and was named an All-NE-10 first-team safety. He rounded out his Pioneer career by leading the league in interceptions (7).

Additionally, Chester made a team-leading 78 tackles (42 solo, 36 assist) this year, averaging 6.0 per contest, and broke up nine passes. His 78 tackles ranked third-most amongst defensive backs in the conference.

In the trenches, Lacey started all 13 games at left tackle and paved the way for an offense that led the NE-10 in rushing yards (2,512), rushing touchdowns (30), passing yards (3,111), passing touchdowns (30) and third-down conversion percentage (.492).
