MANSFIELD, Mass. (Nov. 7, 2016) - After intercepting two passes Saturday, LIU Post freshman defensive back
Joshua Flowers (Mount Laurel, N.J.) was tabbed as the Northeast-10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Flowers, who shared the honor with Stonehill's Andrew Jamiel, also recorded three tackles (two solo, one assist) in a 64-7 rout of Merrimack in the Pioneers' 2016 regular-season finale.
Each of Flowers' two interceptions came on deep throws into LIU Post territory. With those two picks, he now leads the NE-10 in interceptions with six.
Four of Flowers' six interceptions this year have resulted in scoring plays for the Pioneers, three of which have led to touchdowns.
Flowers and the Pioneers return to action Saturday (Nov. 12), when they host Assumption College in the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y. Kickoff is set for noon.
