Women's Basketball Stumbles Against Bloomfield, 87-45

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 27, 2016) - On Sunday, the LIU Post women's basketball team fell to Bloomfield College, 87-45, in a non-conference showdown at the Pratt Recreation Center.
The Bears (3-2) came out roaring to start the game, outscoring the Pioneers (3-3) by a 27-6 count in the first quarter. The visitors shot a sizzling 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the field in the period.
That proved to be all Bloomfield needed, as LIU Post was unable to cut into the Bears' double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
Sophomore forward
Sasha Patterson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Senior forward
Janaysia James (Perth Amboy, N.J.) had eight points and seven rebounds. Senior guard
Kylie Garrett (Mount Orab, Ohio) amassed seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Freshman forward
Mikaiya Moore (Amityville, N.Y.) chipped in four points, five blocks and three rebounds.
Head Coach
Deirdre Moore and the Pioneers are back in action Wednesday (Nov. 30), when they return to East Coast Conference play against Daemen College at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
