INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 13, 2016) - The National Collegiate Athletic Association released the 28-team field for the 2016 NCAA Division II Football Championship Sunday, and LIU Post earned the No. 2 seed in Super Region I.

The Pioneers will host seventh-seeded Winston-Salem State University next Saturday (Nov. 19) at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y.

It is the first time that LIU Post will host an NCAA Tournament game since 2005. That contest was the Pioneers' first-ever NCAA postseason victory -- a thrilling 24-20 victory over West Chester University.

Former standout and LIU Post Athletic Hall of Famer Rob Blount found Ryan Heller for a game-winning 15-yard touchdown pass with 2.6 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter in the win.

It will also be the first-ever meeting between the Pioneers and Rams. Both squads won their respective conference championships on Saturday.

The winner will advance to a second-round date with either third-seeded Shepherd University or sixth-seeded Assumption College on Nov. 26 at the highest remaining seed.
