CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 18, 2016) - The East Coast Conference revealed its weekly award recipients Monday night, and LIU Post women's soccer sophomore goalie Hillevi Eklow (Väröbacka, Sweden) earned defensive player of the week recognition from the league.

In three starts last week, Eklow made eight saves and posted a pair of shutouts. She turned aside four shots in a scoreless tie Friday (Oct. 14) at Roberts Wesleyan, and added another four stops in a 1-0 win at Daemen on Sunday (Oct. 16).

Eklow, who has the second-most shutouts (6) in the conference in 2016, currently boasts a league-leading 9-2-2 record with 38 saves and a 0.62 goals-against average. Her 0.62 GAA is the second-lowest amongst ECC netminders.

Eklow and the Pioneers return to the pitch Thursday (Oct. 20), when they face Molloy College in an ECC showdown at 4 p.m. in Rockville Centre.
