AMHERST, N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2016) - An 83rd-minute goal from sophomore forward Andrea Huntzinger (Stockholm, Sweden) propelled the LIU Post women's soccer team to a 1-0 win versus Daemen College in East Coast Conference action Sunday at Sweet Home Stadium.

The tally was Huntzinger's third game-winner of 2016, all of which have come in the final 15 minutes of regulation. Her three game-winners are also tied for second-most in the East Coast Conference.

Huntzinger flicked a shot over Daemen (4-8-2, 1-5-1 ECC) sophomore goalie Jackie Wescott (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) from the middle of the 18-yard box to break the scoreless tie with 7:41 left.

The Pioneers (9-2-2, 3-1-1 ECC) dominated the match, outshooting the Wildcats by a 23-7 count. The visitors also held the opposition without a shot in the opening 45 minutes.

Between the pipes, sophomore goalie Hillevi Eklow (Väröbacka, Sweden) made four saves for LIU Post. Wescott turned aside eight shots for Daemen.

Head Coach Mark Dawson and the Pioneers return to the pitch Thursday (Oct. 20), when they face ECC rival Molloy College at 4 p.m. in Rockville Centre.
