HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2016) - The LIU Post equestrian team earned a reserve high point finish Sunday at the Adelphi University Show on Sunday at Stanhope Stables.
Senior
Alex Rand (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), sophomore
Grace Tice (Simsbury, Conn.) and freshman
Alex Daskam (Southbury, Conn.) tied for reserve high point rider in the competition. Rand won her class in the open flat and placed second in the open fences. Tice earned a first-place ribbon in the open fences and finished second in the open flat. Daskam rode to a first-place showing in the novice flat and added a second-place effort in the novice fences.
Junior
Mallory Slack (East Islip, N.Y.) captured a first-place finish in the intermediate flat. Sophomore
Jessica Sulkers (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) bested her opposition in the intermediate fences. Junior
Monica Moscoso (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) was first in the novice fences.
Freshman
Jillian Lento (East Patchogue, N.Y.) collected second-place ribbons in the novice flat and novice fences. Fellow freshmen
Nicolette Signorelli (Bellmore, N.Y.) and
Nicole Sinram (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) each came in third in the novice fences. Sinram also posted a second-place finish in the novice flat.
Sophomore
Chloe Hoerner (Brightwaters, N.Y.) took third in the intermediate fences. Junior
Alyssa Rehm (Kings Park, N.Y.) and freshman
Gianna Perry (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) contributed third-place performances in the walk-trot-canter.
Juniors
Sara Peterson (Huntington, N.Y.) and
Shannon Wright (Valley Stream, N.Y.) both finished fourth in the walk-trot. Freshman
Cara Sappelsa (Smithtown, N.Y.) received a fourth-place ribbon in the novice fences.
Head Coach
Brooke Chasin and the Pioneers return to action next Sunday (Oct. 17), when they compete at the Stony Brook University Show at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center in Selden.
