SPARKS, Md. (Jan. 11, 2016) - Coming off a fourth-straight 15-plus win season, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team recently placed 10th in the 2016 Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division II Preseason Top-15 Poll.
The Pioneers have four ranked opponents on deck in the 2016 campaign, including three of Lacrosse Magazine's perennial top four. LIU Post will welcome in No. 1 Adelphi University (Apr. 2), No. 2 Le Moyne College (Mar. 5) and No. 12 Stonehill College (Apr. 26), and travel to Melbourne, Fla. to face No. 4 University of New Haven (Mar. 12) for the second-consecutive year.
Head Coach
Meghan McNamara's squad rounded out last season with a 15-4 overall record, capturing the East Coast Conference Championship. LIU Post was slotted ninth in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll of 2015. The Pioneers were listed as high as No. 4 at the start of the campaign.

Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.), in addition to 2015 All-ECC selections
Brittany Smith (Dix Hills, N.Y.),
Stefani Vagelatos (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and
Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.).
McNamara and the Pioneers open the 2016 season on Tuesday, Mar. 1, when they host Nyack College in a non-conference tilt at 3 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y.
