Indoor Track Opens New Year at Yale Collegiate Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 10, 2016) - On Saturday, the LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Yale University Collegiate Invitational, hosted at Coxe Cage in New Haven.
On the women's side, junior
Chloe Margulis (Port Washington, N.Y.) recorded an 18th-place finish
(1:09.52) in the 400-meter dash. She also clocked a 1:32.23 in the 500-meter run.
In the 800-meter race, freshman
Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) posted a time of 2:48.30. Senior
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) added a 10:55.90 in the 3,000-meter run.
For the men, red-shirt junior
Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.) ran the 200-meter dash in 24.16, while junior
Devin Pettaway (Amityville, N.Y.) completed the 400-dash in 57.07.
In the mile, sophomore
Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) crossed at 4:58.92. Red-shirt junior
Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) finished at 8:54.04 in the 3,000-meter run.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Pettaway, red-shirt freshman
Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.), red-shirt sophomore
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) and junior
Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) finished in 3:38.70.
The Pioneers are back in action on Friday (Jan. 18), when they head to Staten Island, N.Y. to participate in the Spartan Invitational, hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas College at 3 p.m. at the Ocean Breeze Park Athletic Complex.
