WACO, Texas (Aug. 17, 2015) - The LIU Post football team has earned votes in the 2015 American Football Coaches' Association Preseason Division II Top-25 Poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Pioneers, coming off securing their first Northeast-10 Conference title and NCAA Tournament bid in nearly a decade, posted an 8-4 record a season ago. They were also 7-2 against NE-10 opposition.
LIU Post was one of 29 schools to earn votes in the tally, claiming three from fellow Division II coaches, and one of two institutions represented from the Northeast-10 Conference.
Reigning national runner-up Minnesota State University-Mankato topped the poll, while defending national champion Colorado State University-Pueblo was second. University of Minnesota-Duluth, The University of West Georgia and Northwest Missouri State University rounded out the Top-5.
The Pioneers open the 2015 campaign under the lights at Eiler-Martin Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 3 against East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
