BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 14, 2015) - On Thursday, the 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, were released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom, and four LIU Post student-athletes were honored.

For the men, lacrosse players Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) and Connor Drost (Wading River, N.Y.) were selected to the District I team. On the women's side, field hockey players Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) and Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) were honored.

In the classroom, Beccaris, a junior, sports a 3.50 GPA as a Criminal Justice major. On the field, a three-time All-East Coast Conference selection, led the LIU Post offense with 64 points (44 goals, 20 assists).

Drost, a senior and fellow Criminal Justice major, posted a 3.40 GPA. On the field, Drost tallied 54 points for the green and gold and was an All-ECC first-team selection in 2015.

Crouse and Margiotta led the field hockey program to their second-straight NCAA Division II national final appearance. Crouse finished her graduate degree in Special Education with a perfect 4.0 GPA, while Margiotta boasts a 3.58 GPA as a Speech-Language Pathology major.

Crouse, the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year, tallied nine goals and eight assists, good for 26 points, through the 2014 campaign. She was a key component in a Pioneer defensive line that ranked No. 1 in all of Division II for scoring average (3.88) and second for scoring margin (2.80).

Margiotta, the NE-10 Offensive Player of the Year, was the country's leading goal- and point-getter, amassing totals of 33 and 82, respectively. Additionally, the Sewell native averaged the second-most assists (0.73) in the nation, while finding the back of the cage for a team-leading eight game-winners.
