Kirk Named ECC Goalkeeper of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Mar. 30, 2015) - On Monday, LIU Post women's lacrosse freshman Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned her first collegiate accolade, receiving East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Week recognition.

In three starts between the pipes last week, Kirk was a perfect 3-0 with 17 saves. She also posted a dazzling 3.96 goals-against average and a .607 save percentage, as well.

Kirk stonewalled then-No. 12 Saint Anselm for six saves in an 11-3 win last Wednesday (Mar. 25). The Farmingdale native then capped off the week with a game-high eight stops in a 16-6 rout of Findlay on Sunday (Mar. 29).

Those two performances sandwiched a three-save performance by Kirk in an 18-2 victory at Molloy on Saturday (Mar. 28).

Through eight starts, Kirk is presently 6-2 on the season with 57 saves. She sits in the Top-10 in Division II in goals-against average (6.53) and save percentage (.518), ranking seventh and eighth, respectively.

Kirk and the Pioneers are back in action Wednesday (Apr. 1), when they return to ECC play in Bridgeport, Conn. at Bridgeport. The opening draw is slated for 4 p.m.
