Women's Golf Begins Spring Season in Myrtle Beach
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 13, 2015) - The LIU Post women's golf team began its inaugural spring campaign with a competition at the famed Barefoot Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Tuesday (Mar. 10). The Pioneers played in individual matches against Dickinson and Illinois College on their spring break trip.
Sophomore
Shelby Townsend (Panora, Iowa) shot the low round of the day, carding a 90. Townsend's scorecard included six pars as she bested her two opponents by one stroke each. Junior
Hannah Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.) collected five pars and a birdie for her round, as she finished with a 93. Pohalski was two strokes better than Alexis Linkter of Illinois College and four shots under the mark of Dickinson's Melanie Campbell. Finally, senior
Nokkie Koonvisal (Bangkok, Thailand) carded a 104 with two pars and a birdie on her round, halving her match with Dickinson freshman Caroline Gabriele.

Tom Kane and the LIU Post women's golf team will play their first invitational next Saturday and Sunday (Mar. 21 & 22) at the Revolutionary Collegiate Golf Classic at Patriots Glen National Golf Club in Elkton, Md.
