WILMINGTON, Del. (Nov. 14, 2015) - Junior forward Greg Dotson (Abington, Pa.) posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds Saturday to lead the LIU Post men's basketball team to a 71-55 win against University of the Sciences, as part of the Delaware Express Tip-Off Invitational, hosted by Goldey-Beacom College at the Jones College Center.

Down 14-13 less than six minutes into the first half, the Pioneers (1-0) reeled off a 12-2 run to go up 26-15 with 7:56 to go. Burns and junior guard Jared Hall (South Orange, N.J.) each drilled a trifecta in the burst. Dotson and senior forward Michael Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) put down back-to-back dunks.

However, the Devils (0-1) closed out the period on a 12-0 streak to bring a 30-28 cushion into halftime. Hall led all LIU Post scorers in the first half with six points, on 2-of-3 shooting from downtown.

In the second half, the Pioneers trailed by as many as 10 points (38-28), but closed the gap to 45-39 at the 11:25 mark.

From there, the green and gold came back with a 25-5 response to re-gain their double-digit advantage (64-50), which proved to be all LIU Post needed.

Dotson accounted for eight points in the run. Burns and senior guard Akosa Maduegbunam (Hyde Park, Mass.) knocked down a three-pointer apiece. The Pioneers drilled eight treys in the contest and shot 47.1 percent (8-of-17) from beyond the arc.

Hall chipped in eight points and two rebounds in the victory. Phillip provided seven points and seven boards off the bench. Junior forward Barrington Alston (Wilmington, Del.) had seven points and four rebounds. Junior guard Bryant Webb (Parlin, N.J.) added four points, two boards and one assist in his LIU Post debut.
