FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2015) - On Monday night, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team lent a hand at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction at Carlyle on the Green in Farmingdale.

The event featured more than 24 chefs, restaurants, wineries, breweries and dessert designers offering up their most exciting culinary delights with more than 200 guests.

During the evening, the Pioneers sold raffles and slips for prizes during a live auction, while also collecting donations to support the March of Dimes.

"The event was an enjoyable experience for all of us," said LIU Post junior Cara Douglas (West Islip, N.Y.). "It was eye opening about how many families and children are affected by premature birth and how the March of Dimes Foundation helps out."

The March of Dimes' mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortaility.
