Men's Basketball Signs Lydon For 2014-15 Season
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 21, 2014) - On Monday, LIU Post Head Men's Basketball Coach
Erik Smiles announced the signing of
Zachary Lydon to a National Letter of Intent. Lydon was a three-time Section IX Champion at Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine.
"We are really excited to have signed Zach. He brings a new element to our team," Smiles said. "Being 6-foot-9 and having the ability to shoot the three-pointer with the range and consistency that he does is something special. Then, you add in the fact that he finishes well and is a great post defender and solid rebounder...We feel that we have added a great piece who will be able to contribute as a freshman."
In his senior season, Lydon averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. As a result, he was tabbed as a NEPSAC Class AAA Honorable Mention choice. One year earlier, Lydon earned All-Dutchess County and New York State All-Tournament Team kudos.
