Crouse Dubbed NFHCA Division II Scholar of Distinction
CHANDLER, Ariz. (Mar. 20, 2014) - On Thursday, LIU Post field hockey graduate defender
Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) was named an NCAA Division II Scholar of Distinction by the NFHCA. She was one of just 40 student-athletes to receive the honor.
The accolade is bestowed upon field hockey players who attained a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher in the Fall 2013 semester.
Crouse, who posted an unblemished 4.0 GPA, was a key catalyst for the Pioneers in her first full season in Brookville. She started all 22 of her team's contests and finished the 2013 campaign with 26 points, including six goals and 14 assists. The Westville, South Afrtica native also scored the lone goal for LIU Post in the NCAA Division II National Championship game on Nov. 24 against Shippensburg.
In addition, Crouse received a number of accolades for her sensational play on the field. She was tabbed an NFHCA/Longstreth and Synapse Sports First-Team All-American, as well as the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year. Furthermore, Crouse was chosen to the NCAA All-Tournament Team, along with garnering All-Northeast 10 Conference first-team kudos.
