Williams Earns ECC Player Of The Week Honors

Chelsea Williams (Copiague, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Conference's Player of the Week, announced Monday.
Williams averaged 24.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in two Pioneer victories. She poured in 22 points against Bridgeport (Feb. 8), and followed that up with a 26-point effort at Dowling (Feb. 11). Plus, Williams frequented the free-throw line in the two contests, shooting an impressive 92.9 percent on 28 attempts.
As of Feb. 17, the Copiague, N.Y. native is tied for the conference-lead in points per game with Madison Rowland of Queens. Both players sport a 19.2 scoring average.
Williams and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Feb. 19), as they wrap up a three-game road trip at Mercy. The opening tip is slated for 5:30 p.m.
