LIU Post junior forward
Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) has been selected as the 2014 Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association East Region Women's Soccer Player of the Year, as announced on Monday.
A three-time East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year selection, Vistnes helped the Pioneers capture the 2014 East Coast Conference regular-season title and advance to the second round of this season's NCAA Division II Championship. She tallied 19 goals and 11 assists for a 49-point output.
Joining Vistnes on the All-East Region first-team was sophomore back
Kristin Brandman (East Northport, N.Y.). The 2014 ECC Defensive Player of the Year anchored an LIU Post defense that allowed 0.72 goals against this season, good enough for 41st in the country.
Sophomore forward
Julia Backman (Morsil, Sweden) was the lone LIU Post selection on the All-East Region second-team. Backman started all 19 games for the Pioneers, scoring five goals and adding two assists for a total of 12 points. Her three game-winning goals ranked third on the team.
