Viste Named NE-10 Special Teams Player of the Week

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 6, 2014) - After drilling 3-of-3 field-goal tries at Pace, senior kicker Karsten Viste (Randaberg, Norway) of the LIU Post football team was dubbed the Northeast-10 Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Viste split the uprights from distances of 22, 34 and 35 yards Saturday, as the Pioneers defeated the Setters, 44-38. The last of his three makes came just as time expired in the first half. He also averaged 57.0 yards per boot on kickoffs.

So far this season, Viste, who earned his first collegiate football honor, has been true blue on 5-of-7 field-goal attempts. Four of those conversions have come between the 30-to-39-yard range.

Viste and the Pioneers return to action Saturday (Oct. 11), when they host Stonehill for the start of a three-game homestand at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
