Pioneers gear up for NCAA Championships 3/6/2013 2:32:00 PM BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 6, 2013) – The Pioneers will have six swimmers in the 2013 NCAA Division II Championships. Freshman Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), junior Tamara Garriock (Duncan, British Columbia, Canada), freshman Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom), freshman Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.), senior Sandra Luiga (Jarfalla, Sweeden), sophomore Johanna Pettersson (Kunglav, Sweeden) and freshman Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway) will represent LIU Post in Birmingham, Ala. Kwok enters competition ranked 1st in the 100- and 200-meter butterfly events and Pettersson enters competition 3rd in the 200-meter backstroke. As a team, the Pioneers rank 6th in the 200-meter medley relay, 1st in the 400-meter medley relay and 3rd in the 400-meter free style relay. The championships will take place March 6-9 in Birmingham, Ala. The events take place every day with the preliminaries at 11 a.m. with the finals at 6:30 p.m. EST.
