KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 9, 2013) - The LIU Post women's swimming team rolled past Kutztown Saturday with a 160-90 victory, after picking up first-place finishes in 10 of 14 events on the afternoon at Keystone Pool in Kutztown, Pa.

The Pioneers (4-1) swept the two relay events, which bookended the meet. The first event was the 200-yard medley relay in which the LIU Post 'A' team set a new pool record. Junior Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden), senior Tamara Garriock (Duncan, British Columbia, Canada), and sophomores Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) and Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway) finished the race with a time of 1:50.46, trimming 34 seconds off the previous mark. The 'B' team of senior Chelcee Hew (Savage, Minn.), junior Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.), and sophomores Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom) finished the race 3.2 seconds later with a clocking of 1:54.06, good for second place.

In the other relay event, the 400-yard freestyle, the Pioneers 'A', 'B', and 'C' squads grabbed the Top-3 spots. The 'A' team of Brazier, Garriock, Kwok, and Soerensen finished with a clip of 3:40.57. Just over five seconds later (3:45.67), the 'B' crew of Pettersson, Delehanty, Jones, and sophomore Kat Kazaba (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) finished. They were followed by the 'C' team - freshman Poppy Hill (London, England, United Kingdom), alongside juniors Angelica Norrena (Solna, Sweden), Maxi Russo (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), and Malin Hedberg (Vasteras, Sweden) - that rounded out the Top-3 with a time of 3:54.08.

For the individual events, Kwok, Garriock, and junior Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany) registered gold in two different events. Kwok swept the backstroke events, edging out Brazier in both races. In the 100-yard backstroke, Kwok nearly had a 2.5 second cushion, as the pair slapped the wall at 59.38, and 1:02.06, respectively.  With more than a seven-second lead in the 200-yard backstroke, Kwok took home the gold with a time of 2:09.98 to Brazier's 2:17.34.

Garriock's wins came in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke. She finished the 100-free with a time of 54.13, and edged out Rademacher in the 100-breast (1:07.94), while Rademacher ended after 1:09.23.

Along with her runner-up finish to Garriock, Rademacher took home victories in the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley, with Hew securing the runner-up spot in both events. The duo finished the 200-breast with times of 2:25.85 and 2:37.46, while finishing the 200-IM at 2:11.37 and 2:19.89.

Soerensen secured a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a finishing time of 1:59.78, narrowly edging out the Golden Bears' Caitlin Davies, who slapped the wall after 2:00.35 had passed.
