KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 8, 2013) - After three consecutive weeks at No. 2, the LIU Post men's soccer team earned the top ranking Tuesday in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Top-25 Poll. The Pioneers, who sport a record of 10-0 overall, are just one of two remaining unbeaten squads in the country.

Rollins climbed one spot as well this week to second, while Lander, Notre Dame (Ohio) and Northeastern State rounded out the Top-5. Simon Fraser, which recently held the No. 1 slot, slipped to ninth, following a 2-1 loss to Seattle Pacific last Thursday.

Fellow East Region institutions Post and Southern New Hampshire each leapt ahead two places. The Eagles moved up to 13th, and the Penmen are now 18th.

Last weekend, LIU Post captured decisive wins against East Coast Conference opponents Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen. The Pioneers blanked the Redhawks Friday, 3-0, before making quick work of the Wildcats Sunday, 9-1. Junior forward Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) had eight points between the two contests, summing up his season total to 34 (14 G, 6 A), which is tied for the lead in NCAA Division II.

The Pioneers are back in action Wednesday (Oct. 9) at Nyack in a non-conference clash. The opening kick is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
