Chrastecka Garners All-ECC Second-Team Recognition
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2013) - The East Coast Conference gave out its postseason honors on Friday, and sophomore Lucie Chrastecka (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic) was named to the All-ECC second-team, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
Junior Celia Respaut of New York Institute of Technology was tabbed the Player of the Year, and teammate Claudia Sanchez Gonzalez earned Rookie of the Year accolades. Queens' Alan Nagel was dubbed the Coach of the Year for the ninth time in his career.
On the year, Chrastecka compiled a 5-3 mark in No. 1 singles play, including a 4-2 mark during conference matches. In No. 1 doubles action, she teamed up with freshman Heena Kewalramani (Bangkok, Thailand) for a 5-4 record (4-3 ECC).
Chrastecka and the Pioneers will face NYIT today (Oct. 25) in an ECC Championship semifinal at Queens in Flushing, N.Y. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
