Crouse Tabbed Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 15, 2013) - On Tuesday, the Northeast-10 Conference released its weekly field hockey report, and graduate midfielder Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) secured defensive player of the week honors.
In two victories on the week for the No. 5 LIU Post field hockey team (11-0), Crouse led a defense that limited the Pioneers' opposition to just 14 shots, while her squad took 44. She also helped her squad to a 20-9 advantage in penalty corners. Against Southern Connecticut State, Crouse added an assist.
LIU Post holds the top scoring margin in all of Division II at 3.68, and the defense has allowed just 0.81 goals per game, the second lowest goals-against average in the nation.
Crouse and the Pioneers continue their homestand Thursday (Oct. 17), when they host Adelphi at Hickox Field for a Northeast-10 match-up. Action is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
