Men's Soccer Leaps to No. 3 in NSCAA Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 18, 2012) - The LIU Post men's soccer team vaulted fourteen spots in the NSCAA Division II National poll, claiming the No. 3 spot in this week's rankings.
The Pioneers are riding a 6-0 record to open their season, and they are currently tied for 10th in the nation in scoring offense, eighth in total goals and total points, and along with seven other teams, tied for first place in won-lost percentage. In addition, the Pioneers have outscored their opponents by a 19-5 margin on the season, with nine different Pioneers finding the back of the net. Sophomore forward
Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) ranks fourth in total points and total goals, seventh in points per game, and 10th in goals per game.
Head coach
Andreas Lindberg and his Pioneers look to continue their unbeaten streak this week as they host Dowling on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
