Stirling Garners ECC Rookie of the Week Recognition
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 17, 2012)—The East Coast Conference tabbed LIU Post freshman women's cross country runner
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) the Rookie of the Week after her strong performance at the LIU Post Cross Country Invitational this past weekend.
The LIU Post women's cross country team recorded a second place finish for the second straight weekend. Stirling made an impressive collegiate debut as she finished the 5k course in ninth place at the invite. She was the first freshman to cross the finish line of the run with a time of 19:52.17.
The Pioneers will take this upcoming weekend off, and look ahead to Friday Sept. 28 as the squad travels to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short Invitational in hopes of continuing its success.
