Men's Soccer Ranked 13th In NSCAA Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 7, 2012) – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released its Division II Preseason poll, ranking the LIU Post men's soccer team 13th overall. The Pioneers are joined by East Coast Conference rival St. Thomas Aquinas, who was ranked 21st out of the 25-team poll.
The Pioneers return under the direction of fourth-year head coach Andreas Lindberg, after completing the 2011 season with an overall record of 17-3-1 and tying the program record for wins. LIU Post also advanced to the East Coast Conference Championship and made appearance in the second round of the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. The Pioneers ended their season ranked 12th overall in the final 2011 NSCAA poll.
LIU Post kicks of its season on Aug. 30 as it travels to Bridgeport for the Purple Knight Classic, facing off against Wilmington in the opener. The Pioneers are set to open conference play on Sept. 1th as they host the District of Columbia at 3:30 p.m.
