BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (July 25, 2012) – The LIU Post men's soccer team announced the release of its 2012 schedule.  Head coach Andreas Lindberg and the Pioneers will look to repeat the success of 2011, where they spent much of the season ranked in the top 10 in the nation, finishing 17-3-1 and advancing to the East Coast Conference Championship and the second round of the NCAA Tournament. 

The Pioneers begin their season with a trip to Bridgeport, Conn. for the Purple Knight Classic, facing off against Wilmington on Aug. 30 then following with a contest against Bloomfield on Sept 1.  LIU Post will stay on the road, traveling to Assumption and American International on Sept. 6 and Sept. 8. 

The home opener for the team will be against Nyack on Sept. 12 at 3:30 p.m., followed three days later by the East Coast Conference opener against the Firebirds of the District of Columbia and Sept. 15 at 3 p.m.  

LIU Post will take on fellow NCAA participatn St. Thomas Aquinas on Sept. 29 in Sparkill, N.Y., and will face off against last year's ECC Champs, NYIT, on Oct. 13, in a rematch of the 2011 ECC Championship game.   

The Pioneers will play non-conference matches against UMass-Lowell on Oct. 10, Philadelphia on Oct. 16, and Post on Oct. 23, before ending the regular season against Molloy on Oct. 27 in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
