BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 11, 2012) – The 2nd Annual LIU Post and Beyond Celebration of Community, Research & Character was held at the Tilles Center on the LIU Post Campus today, and the C.W. Post men's soccer team received the Infinity Award for service hours to the community.

The event was created to honor the vast array of Experiential Education that occurs each and every day at LIU Post, and Associate Provost Dr. William Gustafson presented the awards.

The Pioneers, under head coach Andreas Lindberg, completed 338 community service hours.  The hours included supporting and volunteering at the Southampton Soccer Club, the ECC Leadership Conference, the Northport/East Northport Food Pantry, and Island Harvest Food Drive.

The men's soccer team displays success not only in the community, but also in the classroom, with a cumulative team GPA of 3.37, as well as on the field, as this past fall was a new program record for wins with 17, as the Pioneers advanced to the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Division II Championships.
