Tennis Drops Conference Match to #24 Queens, 9-0

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 13, 2011) – C.W. Post tennis continued ECC play on Tuesday with a match against nationally ranked, #24 Queens College.  Despite playing tough and competitive, the Pioneers were unable to take a set against the Knights, dropping the match by the score of 9-0. 

Lejla Heco (Malmo, Sweden) took on the role of the number one singles match and played the toughest match of the day against Erika Goldsmith of Queens.  Goldsmith took the two set match by the score of 6-1, 6-3.

Heco also teamed up with Morgan Milleisen to put forth a competitive doubles match against the Queens duo of Anna Rodinova and Francesca Fanchin.  The Queens pair completed the victory by a score of 8-2. 

Next up this weekend will be tournament play for the Pioneers.  The team will take part in the ITA Tournament from Friday to Sunday, Sept. 16 to Sept. 18.
