Moore Adds Iona Transfer Samantha Kopp To 2011-12 Women's Basketball Roster
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 25, 2011) – C.W. Post head women's basketball coach Deirdre Moore announced on Friday that Samantha Kopp (Franklinville, N.Y.), a 6-foot-2 forward, is transferring from Iona College to play for the Pioneers for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
Kopp was a two-year team captain and four-time team MVP at Franklinville Central. She averaged 32 points, 22.6 rebounds and seven blocks and finished her career with 2,420 points and 1,978 rebounds during her high school varsity career. She was also named Big 30 Player of the Year and was selected to the New York State All Star Team as well as First Team All-Western N.Y. At Iona, she made good contributions in limited minutes.
Moore on Kopp: “We are very excited to have Sam join our women's basketball family. She is very athletic and will add depth at both the forward and center positions. Sam is a proven scorer and defender and has the ability to impact our program immediately. She competes on a high level and is extremely competitive.”
