Aiken Voted Daktronics Inc. First Team All-Region

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 9, 2011) – Senior Janea Aiken (St. Albans, N.Y.) was named to the 2011 Daktronics Inc. East Region Women's Basketball First Team, as voted upon by the region's sports information directors.
 
Aiken, who was also named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year and ECC Championship Most Outstanding player, has led her team offensively this season and ranks second in the conference in scoring with 17.9 points and 3.3 assists per game. A two-time Daktronics First Team All-Region selection, Aiken has scored in double figures in 26 of the Pioneers' 29 games. She scored a career-high 35 points in the Championship final against Bridgeport.
 
C.W. Post (17-12) qualified for its first NCAA appearance since 2001 after defeating Bridgeport, 69-66. The Pioneers will take on No. 17 Bentley University in the first round of the tournament on Friday at 6 p.m. at Bentley.
