SPARKILL, N.Y. (Feb. 19, 2010) –
Junior guard Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) led four Pioneers reaching double figures, as C.W. Post men's basketball defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 82-61 on Saturday afternoon at Aquinas Hall in East Coast Conference men's basketball action.

C.W. Post improve to 19-7 overall and 16-3 in ECC play, keeping pace with Bridgeport for first place in the conference. STAC slides to 5-19 overall and 5-14 in conference play.

In addition to Bonneau's 27-point night, which came off 10-of-14 shooting from the floor, senior guard #Gil Montalvo# (Astoria, N.Y.)delivered 11 points (5-7 FG) and four assists, and sophomore guard Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn.) and junior guard Billy Butler (Elmont, N.Y.) each cashed in for 10 points apiece.  
 
The Pioneers led the entire way, slowly building a double-digit lead throughout the first half, and pushing out to a 23-12 lead with 9:46 to play. By the end of the first half, C.W. Post had a 43-28 advantage. 
 
The second half saw C.W. Post totally in control, as the Pioneer lead did not dip below 10 points and capped out at 28 points with 6:21 remaining in the contest as the visitors coasted to a 21-point victory.

C.W. Post shot 50.8% from the floor (30-59), and an impressive 10-19 from three-point range. The visitors had a 16-15 assist-turnover ratio, and held a 41-24 edge on the glass. 
 
St. Thomas Aquinas was led by Justin Brown's 17 points, followed by Jason Holloway with 13 and Jamie Blanchard with 10 points.  
 
The Pioneers take on Queens next, hosting the Knights on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
