Riverhead's Jalyn Brown Commits To Play Basketball At C.W. Post Beginning 2012-13
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Dec. 16, 2011) – C.W. Post head women's basketball coach
Deirdre Moore announced that
Jalyn Brown (Riverhead, N.Y.) has committed to play her freshman season beginning in 2012-13.
Brown, a 5-foot-5 point guard from Riverhead, is currently playing at Riverhead High School. She will enroll as a freshman in the physical education program.
She averages 14 points per game, five assists, and two steals per game. She is a three-time All-League selection as well as a two-time All-County selection. She was recently named MVP of the Alzheimer's All Star Basketball Classic to benefit the Port Washington-based Long Island Alzheimer Foundation. She also serves as a captain at Riverhead.
Moore on Brown: “We are excited to have Jalyn join our women's basketball family. She's a hard worker and an extremely coachable athlete. Jalyn is smart and defends well at the point. She is a play maker who can score in multiple ways. She comes from a good family and we are looking for her to make the transition to college athletics very smoothly.”
