Three Men's Soccer Players Earn NSCAA All-Region; Turan Named Third Team All-American
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Dec. 15, 2011) - Sophomore
Cemil Turan (Statens Island, N.Y.) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America Third Team, while three C.W. Post men's soccer players were named to the NSCAA All-East Region Team. Sophomores
Eirik Bjoernoe (Randaberg, Norway) and Turan earned First Team accolades, while junior
Andreas Olson (Oppeid, Norway) earned Second Team honors.
Turan scored 14 goals, kicking in a conferece-high seven game-winners in the process, and added four assists.
Olson used his incredible speed to provide an outstanding threat on the wing, scoring six goals and dishing out a team-high 11 assists.
Bjoernoe was solid in the back, as his offensive skills provided yet another weapon for the Pioneers. He was a perfect 3-for-3 in PK's and added eight assists.
The Pioneers finished the season 17-3-1, winning the ECC Regular Season Title and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Regional before falling to Southern New Hampshire, 2-0.
