Men's and Women's Cross Country Complete NCAA Regional Meet
BOSTON, MASS. (Nov. 6, 2011) – The C.W. Post men and women cross country teams competed in the East Regional meet in Boston for today's NCAA Championships. The men took home an eight place finish out of 25 teams, while the women competed against 27 teams and earned a 17
th place finish.
For the Pioneer men, four individual runners finished within the top 50. The top finish out of those four runners was junior
Christian Altamura (Seaford, N.Y.). Altamura came in 24
th place as he finished the course in a time of 32:45.3. Seven finishes later came in
Matthew O'Keefe (East Rockaway, N.Y.) for a 33:02.1, 31
st place finish.
Richard Schmitz (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was also not far behind, coming 34
th place for a 33:18.1 time.
Raymond Coyle (Woodhaven, N.Y.) rounds out the top 50 finishes for the Pioneers, as the junior came in 45
th place with a time of 33:39.3.
Two sophomores and a freshman were found in the top 100 for the women's cross country team.
Jennifer McLaughlin (Seaford, N.Y.) was the first to cross the finishing line, coming in at 25:02.8 for a 71
st place finish.
Alexa Montergari (Wanaque, N.J.) finished six spots behind in 77
th place, as she clocked in at 25:13.2. The final Pioneer to complete the course within the top 100 was
Angelica Price (Tampa, Fla.). Price came in 95
th place with a course time of 25:42.2
