Women's Basketball Lends a Helping Hand at the Mary Brennan INN
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Nov. 29, 2011) – Prior to last week's Thanksgiving holiday, the C.W. Post women's basketball team participated in a community service event on Monday, Nov. 21, at the Mary Brennan INN. The Inn is located in Hempstead and provides 320,000 meals annually to both children and adults.
Last Monday, the Pioneer women's basketball spent the day at the Mary Brennan INN and helped give back to the community. With the time spent there, the team packed bags of Thanksgiving meals and then gave out those bags along with frozen uncooked turkeys to hundreds of people.
The INN was founded back in 1983 and then opened its first emergency shelter in the following year of 1984.
