Offense Keys Women's Basketball To 84-55 Win At Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. (Nov. 17, 2011) – C.W. Post scored 52 first half points en route to an 84-55 drubbing over Nyack College Thursday evening in a non-conference women's basketball clash.
C.W. Post improves to 2-1 overall while Nyack slips to 0-2.
C.W. Post shot .487 (37 of 76) from field goal range and held a 44-42 advantage on the glass. Nyack shot .302 (19 of 63) from the field and was 15-for-20 from the charity stripe.
Senior
guard Felicia Joyner (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) led the game in scoring with 23 points aided by 11-of-14 shooting from the field. Junior forwards
Nicolette Marciniak (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
Samantha Kopp (Franklinville, N.Y.) each added 12 points. Marciniak added eight rebounds while Kopp cleaned up with seven boards.
The Pioneers, who already led by 10 with 9:20 to play on the clock, outscored the Warriors 30-10 during the next eight minutes to widen their lead to 50-26. The visitors led 52-28 at the break. C.W. Post shot .632 (24 of 38) in the first half.
The Warriors came out firing away in the second half and cut the deficit to 18 (57-39) after starting the second half on an 11-3 spurt. But it was not enough to catch the Pioneers, who maintained their double digit lead for the remainder of the game.
Brandone Roberts led Nyack with 19 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Ashley Tallman added 12 points.
C.W. Post returns to action on the road at Adelphi University on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
