BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (June 13, 2010) – C.W. Post head coach
Deirdre Moore announced that three players have signed National Letters of Intent.
Kenyatta Sears (Hampton, Va.),
Britney Agostini (Middletown, Del.) and
Nijah LaCourt (Bronx, N.Y.) will suit up in a Pioneer uniform for the 2010-11 season. In addition, Moore also adds Washington Adventist transfer
Quiano Tiggle (Bowie, Md.) to the roster.
Kenyatta Sears (Guard, 5-6, Hampton, Va./Hampton) – A point guard at Hampton High, Sears was a three-year varsity player. She was named to the Pennsula All District Team.
Moore on Sears: Kiki is an excellent defender who has a great passion for the game of basketball. She has the ability to create for herself and teammates. Kiki's speed and explosiveness makes her versatile and we expect her to be able to contribute in many ways.
Britney Agostini (Guard, 5-7, Middletown, Del./Middletown) – A shooting guard from Middletown High School, Agostini was a four-year varsity player and helped her team to back-to-back successful seasons including play-off runs just short of the championship game.
Moore on Agostini: Britney is an athletic guard and tremendous shooter. She can defend well and brings a great competitive spirit to our team. Britney will also play softball here at C.W. Post which we are extremely excited and proud of.
Nijah LaCourt (Forward, 6-1, Bronx N.Y./Manhattan Center) – A forward from Manhattan Center High School, Nijah was a four-year varsity player who helped her team post a 16-11 record and reach the semifinals of the postseason tournament. LaCourt was selected to the New York Post All-Manhattan Team and was selected Daily News Honorable Mention. She won the spirit and hustle awards and also participated in the Wheel Chair Classic games.
Moore on LaCourt: Nijah is an athletic, skilled post player that will add to our shot blocking and defensive scheme. She can score, rebound and defend. Nijah gives us depth at both the forward and center positions and we are pleased that she is joining our team.
Quiana Tiggle – (Guard , 5-8, Bowie, Md./Washington Adventist Univ.)
Tiggle is a transfer point guard from Washington Adventist University in Prince George, Md. She started 12 of 24 games in 2009-10, averaging five points and three rebound and 22 minutes per game. She earned Rookie of the Year. At National Christian Academy high school, Tiggle led her team to a 22-6 record and was selected as the team's MVP.
Moore on Tiggle: Quianna is a strong scoring point guard. She is a good 3-point shooter and rebounder. Quianna brings experience at both the point guard and shooting guard positions. She is a good person and I'm happy she's joining our team.
