– Junior guard Janea Aiken (St. Albans, N.Y.) of the C.W. Post women's basketball team was honored as this year's ECAC Player of the Year after helping to lead the Pioneers to a 20-9 overall record and a 14-7 mark in the East Coast Conference.
Aiken was also named to the First Team along with junior guard Kristy Leedhman of Caldwell College, graduate guard Christie Marrone of Dowling College, sophomore guard Ephiphany Smith of Saint Anselm College and senior forward Emma Beddome of the University of Bridgeport.
Aiken has led the Pioneers to a 20-9 record, averaging 16.6 points and 4.3 rebounds. She was also named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year. Aiken scored a season-high 29 points in a double overtime win over Dowling College on Jan. 20. She also registered double scoring figures on 26 occasions.
C.W. Post completed its season with a 20-9 overall record where it reached the 20-win plateau for the third time in school history.
