Moore, Joyner Lead Women's Basketball Past NYIT, 75-50

– C.W. Post won its 11th straight contest with a 75-50 win over neighboring New York Institute of Technology in East Coast Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Pratt Recreation Center.
 
C.W. Post improves to 14-3 overall and 9-2 in conference action while NYIT falls to 2-15 overall and 2-9 in the ECC.
 
The Pioneers completed the game shooting .467 (28 of 60) from the field and was 17-for-22 at the line. NYIT shot .273 (15 of 55) and went 16-for-31 from the charity stripe. C.W. Post held a 52-31 advantage on the glass.
 
Senior guard #Jasmine Moore# (Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore guard Felicia Joyner (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) each scored 14 points. Moore pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds and Joyner dished out six assists.
 
C.W. Post's biggest lead in the game came with 31 seconds left in regulation when junior forward Shatima Greer (Central Islip, N.Y.) scored the game's final basketball with a jumper to put the Pioneers ahead by 25 (75-50). 
 
NYIT came as close as within nine (40-31) when senior forward Maggie McKee (Bayshore, N.Y.) made a free throw with 12:46 left to play.
 
Freshman forward Nicole Marciniak (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 11 points for the Pioneers and Greer chipped in eight points and five rebounds.
 
Senior forward Madison Robertson (Shirley, N.Y.) scored 12 points and six rebounds and reached 1,000 career points in a Bears' uniform. McKee also finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Senior guard Jenny Eriksson (Stockholm, Sweden) added 10 points to go with two assists, three rebounds and four steals.
 
C.W. Post is back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at Molloy College for a 6 p.m. tip off.
